On Saturday at the Ukulele Luau, between 1:30pm and 3:30pm there will Hawaiian dance performances, and 2 dance classes that are free to all Luau ticket holders. The classes will be taught by Kory Jones and his crew. Kory will also be guiding us on how to host an authentic Hawaiian Luau.

Beginning Hawaiian Hula - This class is for men, women, and teens (ages 12-up) with little or no Hula background. The class will introduce the various hula styles, form and posture, and basic steps. You'll be given a good foundation on hula basics. Kory will also introduce you to some Hawaiian words, hula vocabulary, and some Hawaiian culture through stories. Hula is a great, low-impact cardio activity! Wear comfortable workout clothes, and check with your doctor first if you have any health concerns.

Men's Polynesian Dance and Drumming - This class is for men and boys 12 and older, and includes instruction in the masculine, chest-slapping, spear-carrying dances and chants of Polynesia (New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Samoa, and Tonga). Students will learn to use various male hula implements, including spears, fighting sticks, and war clubs. Practice implements will be available. Students will also learn the various drumming techniques of the Polynesian and Hawaiian cultures.
